Job Title: Student Store Assistant
Job Status: Part-Time, 10 Months (35%)

Job Summary
It is the primary responsibility of the Student Store Assistant to assist the Student Store Supervisor in the daily operations of the Knight’s Café and kitchen.
Essential Job Functions
Regular Activities
- Assist with daily planning and operation of Student Store
- Shop and secure items from multiple vendors
- Run the operation of food service during brunch and lunch
- Restock salad bar as needed
- Oversee the kitchen staff to ensure on-time delivery of food items
- Data entry of students’ attendance and work hours
- Be comfortable with operating a cash register and handling cash
- Excellent customer service
- Must act professionally at all times while interacting with the customers
Qualifications
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED required
- Valid CA Driver License
- Serv-Safe Certificate (to be obtained after hire date)
- 2+ years of customer service experience
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to run a cash register in a high volume environment with minimal mistakes
- Able to work both independently and in a team setting
- Manages time wisely, remaining productive while working independently
- Stamina to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Thrive in an extremely active environment, perform well under pressure

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Required to use a cash register throughout the day
- Frequently communicates with students
- Work will be performed from campus, indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Will move throughout the campus during the day
- May occasionally have to lift up to 75-pounds

- The months listed are approximate, and the annual start and end date will be dictated by the school calendar and the department’s needs.
- Attend staff meetings, retreats and other school related functions
- Actively participate in Retreats and Service week
Salary & Benefits

Pay Grid Range: $19.41 to $31.23 per hour
- This position is paid based on a preset salary grid, and the actual salary will be determined by applicable education and experience as determined by the Human Resources department. The starting pay listed reflects this position’s minimum experience and education requirements. The top pay range represents the top of the pay grid for this position. It is rare for a candidate to enter this position at the top of the pay grid. Most candidates can expect to enter in the lower to middle section of the pay grid, depending on experience and education.
