Hourly Wage: $16.25-$18.25/hour DOE
Work Location: CAP office and all six elementary school locations in the Greater Albany Public School District
Summary of Position: The primary responsibility of the STEAM Curriculum Coordinator is to create and implement the monthly STEAM curriculum (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics). Each educational category shall be dispersed evenly throughout the monthly programming calendar. Requires planning and implementation of programming activities as well as a regular evaluation of the success of the curriculum at each site.
Job Description: Includes but is not limited to: Developing and implementing programming activities that are appropriate to the children’s age, interests and developmental levels. Exhibit interest and enthusiasm when participating in program activities with children. Have knowledge and experience with STEM programming as well as demonstrate excellent organizational management skills in planning and prioritizing duties to meet monthly schedules and timelines. Position will be responsible for guiding and instructing site staff in a manner that encourages high morale, efficiency, and teamwork as they carry out programming requirements. Candidate must also demonstrate a commitment to a high level of service, build relationships with co-workers, and work as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications: Teacher qualified in accordance with OCC, two years of qualifying teaching experience, AA/AS degree from a college with a major in early childhood education, child development or related field, or a qualifying combination of experience and education. Applicant must have a knowledge of Microsoft Office, i.e., Word, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including English Grammar and spelling, as well as possess strong interpersonal skills in interacting with staff. Experience working within a budget. Must be willing to use personal cell phone in communicating with staff on a daily basis.
