A position has opened at a professional boarding facility in Monmouth. Approximately 7 – 10 hours a week with potential for more hours.
Duties include cleaning stalls, sweeping, handling horses, light arena grooming, and some feed prep. Plus a few odds and ends.
Hours are 7 days a week, not all day. 18 years or older. Must have reliable transportation. Must be 100% responsible and reliable and HONEST. Must have experience with horses for example, owning a horse, working in a stable, or showing horses. You must have knowledge of how to take care of horses including routine health care knowledge.
Applicants should have previous experience working with horses including:
The ability to recognize illness, colic, lameness or other ailments.
Experience handling a wide variety of horses including young/spirited horses.
Aptitude to recognize behavior changes
Knowledge of feed identification and nutrition basics.
Basic equine first aid skills.
Must be dependable, possess a strong work ethic and be able to work without supervision in a team setting.
Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions.
Have a willingness to learn and complete any and all assigned tasks.

***Hint: if you live in Independence, Monmouth, Dallas, North Corvallis, or Salem in areas surrounding River Rd this job will be worth the drive. However, if you live farther away, the travel will eat up most of your paycheck. I’m looking for someone to fill this position long term (6 – 12 mos). Please take this into account before applying.
