About the business division:
Group Strategic Analytics is responsible for the development and delivery of quantitative analytics across the entire DB Group. It is comprised of several teams serving the needs of the Investment Bank, the Corporate Bank, as well as a number of internal functions.
The group employs Quantitative Strategists covering all aspects of model development, implementation, and execution. We produce our own analytical frameworks and applications and collaborate with technology and business partners to solve real business problems. Strats play a critical role ensuring the accuracy of our pricing models as well as the integrity and stability of our capital and risk calculations. Strats are also responsible for curating our analytics to provide robust processes driven by data and analysis to enhance our client flows and revenue.
Division specifics about the graduate role:
Based in one of the world’s global financial centres, you’ll take on early responsibility as you are directly placed into a strat team. Your day-to-day tasks will vary depending on your role and the desk you’re working on.
Quantitative strategists combine expertise in quantitative analytics, modelling, pricing and risk management with a deep understanding of systems architecture and programming. They develop pricing and risk management analytics and tools for sales and trading and employ those tools to carry out quantitative analysis of complex transactions and strategies. Strats use their mathematical expertise to develop models, interfacing with the business to deliver cutting edge analytics to meet the latest market needs.
The program will provide you with the robust learning opportunities and give you the skills and experience to launch a long-term career with us. You will learn from the best, evolve professionally as well as personally, and build a firm foundation upon which to specialise later.
What we look for:
We recruit highly intelligent individuals who are ambitious and adaptable. Most candidates will have an undergraduate or advanced degree in a quantitative or technical subject (mathematics, engineering, computer science, economics, finance). While this degree is not a prerequisite, strong quantitative skills and the ability to express those ideas both verbally and through code are. Our training programs and on-the-job experience will provide you with the guidance you need to grow these skills into a successful career with us. Above all, we’re looking for entrepreneurial people who thrive best in a diverse culture where innovation and agile thinking abound.
You should not only be passionate about the world of finance, but also show a keen interest in your chosen field. You already have a record of outstanding academic achievement and you’re eager to go on learning at the same intensive rate. So you’ll thrive on working in a highly collaborative environment with some of the best minds in banking.
