POSITION: Math Tutor
WAGE: $17 – $19 per hour, depending on experience

REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be competent and comfortable with high school math thru Calculus and adept in helping with concepts/skills.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
Our students are part of the IRCO Upward Bound family for all 4 years of high school. This gives our tutors the unique opportunity to be part of that family too and really get to know the students. Tutoring takes place after school hours and in a group setting. Potential candidates must be able to commit to at least two days a week Mon-Thu 2:25-4:45pm.
Successful applicants will be able to tutor high school level Math (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus) and ideally comfortable assisting in other high school subject areas as well.
Willingness to share about your college and/or post-college experiences. Can be patient and are interested in guiding diverse youth through their high school academic journey towards college.
JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience tutoring and/or working with youth or enjoy youth and are able to learn quickly.
Education: Some college course work (2)
Experience: Less than one year of experience is required
Additional Language Required:
Computers: All positions at IRCO require use of a computer and experience working with Microsoft Products including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Some interaction with those inside the organization to exchange factual information
Minimal need for the redesign of single focus process or procedure is needed
Duties are mostly comprised of routine and repeated tasks
Position requires little physical effort such as lifting, carrying, or constant movement, but does allow for movement needed to complete work tasks
Impact and Influence:
Positions at this level have little to no need or ability to analyze problem or concepts or make decisions on the information. This role has little or no impact and influence on organization operations, programs, expense or budgetary outcomes
Positions at this level work under close supervision, usually function from a clear set of operating processes or procedures, and have work closely reviewed. Little to no judgment and decision-making is required.
Positions at this level have little to no planning responsibility beyond the need to schedule own work and determine impediments to own work schedule.
Positions at this level are not responsible for any supervisory functions or responsibilities, but may occasionally be asked to orient and/or train new employees or volunteers.
This level has a work environment that is well protected, with virtually no hazards or obstacles. There is very little element of personal risk or hazard. Job conditions are stable, usually well managed, and very comfortable.
The work schedule is mostly stable and does not fluctuate without prior notice.
