Latham Centers is internationally renowned for its expertise and success in working with individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS). PWS is a life-threatening genetic disorder that manifests with insatiable appetite, mild to moderate developmental delays, and emotional and behavioral problems. The syndrome occurs in approximately 1 in 18,000 births and is found in all races and ethnic groups. There is no known cure for PWS.

Latham Centers is currently looking for qualified Summer Staff/Summer Interns for 2022.
The Summer Staff/Summer Intern plans and provides direct services to students, which includes developing and delivering instruction, supports, and positive role modeling in the areas of life skills, community utilization, healthcare, and social and recreational activities. This role is split into two: For the month of June, you will be working as Summer Staff in the Residential Dept, working afternoons, nights and weekends. When the summer school session begins in July, this role will transfer to the Summer Intern, in the Education Dept. You will be working in the school, helping with the summer school program, Mon-Fri, 7am-3pm. This role has has direct, active, and constructive interaction with individuals and must maintain active cooperation with co-workers, team members, clinical staff, community members, families, and supervisors.
Latham provides a paid two-week Orientation program for all new employees upon hire. The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED, the ability to handle children/ individuals in crisis safely and with compassion and a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. This is a non-benefited, seasonal position.
Fluent English speaking and writing skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills, and professional appearance and demeanor are all required for this position.
Qualified candidates should be available to start with May/June Orientation, depending on availability, and work through the Summer with the minimum end date of August 19, 2022.
Summer Staff: Schedule varies but requires 1 (8) hour weekend shifts in the month of June.
Summer Interns: M-F – 7am-3pm, 40 hours.
