The Mind Research Network (MRN)
The Mind Research Network, affiliated with Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute, is seeking a Research Clinician in Dr. Houck’s lab. The Research Clinician provides a range of research assessment and therapeutic activities for research participants including individuals, couples, groups, and/or families, as appropriate to the specific requirements of the research study. May provide practical training and guidance to research staff and other study team members.
As part of research participation, the Research Clinician will provide interventions based on talk therapy to participants as appropriate to the study. Collects data about research participants through interview, case history, research assessments, and/or observational technique and evaluates data to meet research goals. Assesses research reliability and validity of intervention used in stud and makes recommendations regarding modification to research protocol. Consults with PI and other study team members, as appropriate, in the performance of research visit interactions; if necessary, refers participants to appropriate service agencies as required. Participates in the review of research issues and study procedures as well as participates in, leads, and/or coordinates training sessions related to talk therapy skills for research purposes.
This is a PRN position and not eligible for benefits.
Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Clinical Psychology or directly related field; at least 12 months of directly related experience which may include clinical internship and/or practicum, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to learn organizational/research-specific computer systems as needed.
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or directly related field; at least 6 months of directly related experience which may include internship and/or practicum.
Current licensure (e.g., LSAA, LADAC, LPCC, LPC, LMHC, LMSW, LCSW) OR licensed out of state and eligible for NM licensure.
Training and experience in delivering motivational interviewing (MI)
