A research technician position is immediately available in the Zhang lab (www.kezhanglab.net) at Mayo Clinic Florida. Our lab focuses on using animal and cellular models to study the mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases, e.g., ALS and FTD. We seek postbac student who can work full time in a research lab for at least eight months (ideally no less than a year). The successful candidate will be willing to learn Drosophila genetics skills and help senior people in the lab on genetic screens in Drosophila. Previous experiences in Drosophila genetics is highly valued but not required. Salaries and benefits will comply with Mayo Clinic’s policy.

For students who are intended to apply to graduate or medical school in 1-2 years, Mayo Clinic also provides a GREP program (https://college.mayo.edu/academics/biomedical-research-training/graduate-research-education-program-grep/). It can be combined with this job position.
