For this position, we seek a candidate with solid understanding of the modern concepts and procedures of molecular/cellular biology. Candidate should have demonstrated a successful track record in conducting original research in the above fields. Candidate should also demonstrate a clear ability to convert this technical mastery to business solutions.
The candidate will apply bioinformatics, machine learning, and data mining techniques to generate novel hypotheses and provide analysis that better meet the needs and expectations of our cross-sector projects. Must have the ability to go beyond accepted ideas to generate better ways to get results (think out of the box).
– Builds collaborative and productive working relationships with team members and others across the company. As a “capability provider”, Global Bioscience team interacts with numerous BU customers. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of effective collaboration in a team environment.
– Grows capability by anticipating bioinformatics capability gaps to prepare for future business challenges; takes responsibility for modifying data analytic strategies to address these gaps. Demonstrates ability to seek and apply new knowledge personally, and to develop knowledge and capability in others.
– Also consistent with our function as a capability provider, the successful candidate must have a proven ability to understand, appreciate and respond to customer needs, driving these insights into actions that help drive GBU programs.
– Operates with discipline by developing clear plans for action in analysis and interpretation of customer datasets and following through to deliver exceptional results. Candidate will focus attention on most important priorities, acting with a scarcity mindset.
We are looking for someone with a PhD in Bioinformatics or relative fields.
