Your Day to Day:
Prudential’s Global Technology business is the primary area hiring Coding & Software Development Interns in 2022. Global Technology (GT) is the spark that ignites the power of Prudential for our customers and employees worldwide. Our organization plays a critical and highly visible role in delivering customer-driven solutions across every area of the company. The Global Technology team is made up of diverse, agile-thinking, and highly skilled professionals; we use our combined capabilities to enable the organization with innovation, speed, agility, scalability and efficiency.
We aim to attract and develop the next generation of technology leaders at Prudential. As a Coding & Software Development Intern, you will work side-by0side with talented people, receive significant exposure to senior leadership, participate in targeted trainings, all while gaining hands-on experiences. You are given substantial responsibilities and will have the opportunity to make an impact and present your newly learned skills. Your summer experience could include a variety of applications and systems projects such as:
Web & Application Development, Cloud Architecture, Platform Engineering, Information Security, Cloud Operations, Enterprise Service Management and Database Management.
Designing and developing code based on the provided technical requirements, and executing test scenarios to insure the stability and performance of all new code
Designing and developing applications which interact with databases to manipulate data
Researching and presenting various AWS services to securely deliver secure and enterprise-capable solution
Utilizing Splunk to run complex data analytics on machine-generated data, while leveraging Ansible and CloudFormation to automate application deployment, configuration, and infrastructure-as-code delivery
Researching and managing 3rd party vendor products and integrations using API’s and application toolkits
Developing new applications or proof-of-concepts to support our DevOps initiatives
Utilizing platforms such as Hazlecast and Apache Spark to explore possible solutions using in memory data-grid
Supporting various components of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) while utilizing various programming languages

Chief Investment Office – ALM Strategy & Analytics
The Asset & Liability Management (ALM) Strategy & Analytics team is a quantitative modeling group responsible for the development of tools for ALM analysis, annuity hedging & investment strategy decisions, portfolio analysis, management reporting, and liability valuation & attribution modeling. Some day to day work on this team could include financial modeling with a focus on fixed income and derivative assets, and insurance liability modeling; as well as financial analysis regarding investment strategy decisions, variable Annuity hedging, capital management and reporting, portfolio attribution, new insurance product development
PGIM Fixed Income – Technology Solutions Group
PGIM Fixed Income’s technology group is a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with exciting changes on the horizon. Your work would include aligning with their development team in migrating applications from our legacy platform to our evolving architectural environment. You will learn practical knowledge of OOP fundamentals and help build, automate and support complex systems across our various business value streams.

Your Desired Skills:
Pursuing an accredited bachelor’s program graduating between December 2022 and May 2023
Preferred majors include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Statistics, and Economics. We welcome all other technical areas of study that includes programming theory in your curriculum to apply!
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Familiarity and understanding of Object-Oriented design concepts, data structures, and algorithms
Strong PC skills (MS Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook)
High Curiosity and willingness to learn
Demonstrated analytical ability and detail orientation
