The Claims Support Specialist is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Claims Department. The specialist must meet or exceed production, efficiency, and accuracy standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Claims and Customer Service Support – Assisting with provider list requests, faxed/emailed claim status requests, member EOB requests, provider RA requests, faxed eligibility requests, mailing out forms, scanning documents, and logging information on spreadsheets.
- General Support – Provides administrative support for CSCRs, Claims Administration Manager/Supervisor, and Chief Performance Officer. Responsible for document handling, including faxing, scanning, filing, folding/stuffing member EOBs, mailing documents, and other general administrative and support functions.
- Opening and Disseminating of Mail – Assist with the opening, stamping, sorting, and distributing mail in a timely, productive, and accurate manner per Claims Department workflows and policies.
- Customer Service – Provide exemplary customer service to members, providers, and internal staff while adhering to the customer service guidelines. Position requires a customer-orientation and commitment to enhancing customers’ experience. Must maintain professional etiquette during all interactions with customers.
- Production, Efficiency, and Accuracy Metrics – Responsible for achieving critical performance metrics determined by supervisor.
- Attend Claims Department meetings
- Attend All-Staff Meetings
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Serve as a backup for other departments as needed
- Other functions and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 1 year of administrative or support experience.
- Must effectively promote a positive image of the Company to employees, customers, and the general public.
- Must communicate well verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel and management in an environment with multiple work demands, including external contacts.
- Must have strong organizational skills and work independently with limited supervision.
- Must be able to examine complex information and/or situations, evaluate the potential impact, identify options, and make recommendations.
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and produce results in conjunction with fellow team members.
