Title: Community Education Project Manager
Reports to: Program Director
Hours: 12 hours per week with occasional evening and/or weekend work as needed
Compensation: $17 – $20/hour, commensurate with experience
Commitment: Hybrid, starting ASAP. This contract position is grant-funded through September 16, 2024
Job Summary: The Community Education Project Manager at CMLC plays an important role maintaining and growing the Community Education classes, which are central to the CMLC community mission and vision. Class subjects range in variety from art, language-learning, math-tutoring, movement and are offered to all-ages. This position encompasses the program administration and team building that works behind the scenes to create a compassionate and informed teaching team and program schedule. The ideal candidate possesses an innate desire to engage with the community, is adaptable, personable, highly organized, excels in project management and strategic planning. The candidate should have a background in teaching and/or program planning and be strongly committed to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.
Primary Tasks:
- Work with the Program Director to select classes for each season and design the schedule of classes.
- Manage registration software including form creation and editing, and supporting students and teachers interacting with the class registration system.
- Interview and hire community instructors including: be on the interview panel, follow up with references, administer instructor contracts, and obtain teacher bios
- Collect and organize rosters for each class and communicate changing class needs with teachers.
- Update, receive and file English placement forms from students each season. Communicate the selected English class to both the student and teacher.
- Answer emails and questions related to classes and registration from students, prospective students, teachers, and CMLC staff.
- Identify gaps in community education program classes and resources. Work with the CMLC team to build apt and responsive community education classes, and develop new programs.
- Track class budgets.
- Support teacher inquiries and ensure smooth class operation including: identifying space usage/needs/repair, administrative support, student:teacher mediation.
- Conduct quarterly student and teacher feedback surveys, collate data, and implement community-informed program changes.
- Help improve CMLC teaching spaces, to make them better, more collaborative, supportive learning environments.
- Biannual data compilation and analysis of class participation, in tandem with the Program Director, as time allows.
- Attend one CMLC Core Volunteer meeting per season and bi-monthly meetings with Program Director.
- Various program improvement tasks as needed including but not limited to: creating new forms, processes, communication templates, research, data analysis, and document position operations to collaboratively write a CMLC operations manual.
Required skills and experience:
- Previous experience working with teams and coordinating educational calendars
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude
- Strong knowledge of program design needs and community engagement
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time

Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Cognito Forms
or other registration software - Able to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers
Additional Preferred Skills
- Multilingual
- Previous non-profit experience
- Previous program coordination and/or teaching experience
- Great with kids!
