This is a hands-on leadership role with outstanding learning and experience opportunities working with Maintenance leadership and staff, with support from Management and Programming. The position will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, improvements, and overall care of landscape beds throughout the park.
Responsibilities
- Assist with maintenance, planting, and other activities related to flora of the park
- Maintain existing landscape beds
- Identify and inventory plants in assigned landscape beds
- Present improvement recommendations to leadership and staff
- Participate in Environmental Stewardship projects, such as invasive species removal and habitat restoration
- Lead volunteers and interns through a variety of projects, if requested
- Support the Friends of Bellevue State Park with gardens under their stewardship
- Engage with local garden shops and clubs
Requirements
- Must be personable and able to provide outstanding customer service for diverse park visitors
- Must be able to communicate effectively with a diverse public and speak in front of groups or other audiences
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have the ability to work independently or with little direct supervision
