*All On Earth Peace internships are decentralized and can be done from intern’s school or home.
On Earth Peace (OEP)’s emerging Place-Based Justice (PBJ) program assists empowered local justice organizers by:
- networking place-based initiatives together through OEP’s Community of Practice model
- offering OEP’s active nonviolence, conflict transformation, racial justice, youth and young adult, and impact planning resources to local communities
- holding spaces for local communities to share their stories and disseminate critical information about their movements
- facilitating solidarity between OEP’s constituency and the local communities we commit to engage, through international and U.S.-based Witness Travel delegations
The Place-Based Justice Organizer will be a critical and catalyzing force in this emerging program. Working closely with the Executive Director, the Impact Assessment Coordinator and other OEP staff and practitioners, the Place-Based Justice Organizer will define, implement and grow a peace and justice framework which is rooted in local empowerment and builds up and with, not over, local communities.
