Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is hiring for a Community Programs Events Assistant! This position provides on-site leadership and oversight of community programs projects and events with Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District. Projects include community events and cultural events. Duties include support of operations of the district’s Events Program, which plans, executes, and supports a calendar of more than 35 events annually for both internal and external clients. Spanish-bilingual language skills are preferred.
We are hiring for one (1) year-round position that may be scheduled up to 29 hours per week. Hours typically include day, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, especially during the summer season (June-September). Part-time employees are scheduled variable hours and may work less than 1,560 hours per year. Seasonal employees may be scheduled up to 40 hours per week for a maximum duration of 6 consecutive months.
Special events take place year-round, with an increased number of events from May through October at various THPRD park and facilities around the district.

Essential Job Functions
Candidates should be prepared to work both indoors and outdoors, on uneven surfaces, in various environmental conditions each week. This position also must be able to work at events independently and be able to load, unload, and set up equipment including chairs, tables, canopy tents, etc.

Qualifications
Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that would likely provide the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
Must be age 18 or older
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in program and event coordination
Must maintain a valid Oregon Driver License and good driving record
Speaking, writing, and reading in both English and Spanish preferred
