Joseph is the Principal Healthcare Consultant for Wealth Systems and Strategies with the Mitre Corporation. Based out of Baltimore, MD, Joseph and his team support the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, monitoring the scope and progress of contract work within several federal agencies.

>> My name is Joe Tier [assumed spelling] and I currently work for Miter Corporation in Baltimore, Maryland. I currently work in the role of Strategic Health Care Consultant, supporting the Department of Health and Human Services. And in their mission, we have roles to play in supporting both the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health, and many other of the agencies that fall under the Department of HHS. So we are all assigned to current projects and tasks that are due under the federal fiscal year, and it's paramount in our role that we do multiple checks and balances in our role as an FFRDC, both to help the government, and to monitor and work with contracting agencies that support the Department of Health and Human Services as well. One may be looking at the project scope that contractors have been assigned, and the deliverables that they are being asked to deliver on a certain schedule. We will work with the government liaison to make sure that all the moving pieces and parts of multiple contractors are falling into place and on schedule to ensure that the goals are met for the government agency.
